How to Get Started

For existing TD Waterhouse Discount Brokerage customers

Please telephone our dedicated Active Trader team to determine if you are a candidate for this service. Note that your account will also need to be registered for WebBroker (register now).

Once you have received confirmation that the Active Trader service may be suitable for your level of trading activity and consistent with your comfort level, our team will forward you an Active Trader User Agreement for your review1.

For new TD Waterhouse Discount Brokerage customers

Getting started with Active Trader is as easy as 1-2-3!

Step 1Please telephone our dedicated Active Trader team to determine if you are a candidate for this service.

Once you have received confirmation that the Active Trader service may be suitable for your level of trading activity and consistent with your comfort level, our team will forward you an Active Trader User Agreement for your review1.

Step 2Open a TD Waterhouse Discount Brokerage Account with WebBroker access. This can be done easily through any of the following methods.

Visit our Application Centre to open an account online or print an account application.Open an Account

Step 3Review and return your signed Active Trader User Agreement.

Once you have received confirmation of your new TD Waterhouse Discount Brokerage account number, review and complete the Active Trader User Agreement. Mail the signed original User Agreement to:

1 Upgrades to Active Trader status will only take effect upon receipt of a signed original User Agreement. New customers may be requested to provide a current brokerage statement to establish their level of trading activity.
